Acupuncture is an important method of theTraditional Chinese Medical system with a history of over 3000 years.

Acupuncture provides safe help for a wide range of health problems including acute and chronic pain. Positive results are typically felt within 1-3 sessions. Frequently there is total elimination of pain, and may be an   alternative to surgery in certain situations.

Acupuncture is the use of steril ultra-fine disposable needles which are inserted at specific points of the body to precisely redirect the flow of Qi.

Qi is the energy within the meridians. Each organ in the body has its own Qi supplying meridian. There are thousands of acupuncture points on the body, with over 360 being commonly used.

Each point has its own function. Depending on the desired effect, different needling techniques can be used to either stimulate, sedate or regulate the flow of Qi.

A typical insertion can last from fifteen to forty minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the desired outcome. Generally, the longer the insertion, the more sedating the treatment will be.

Each point has its own specific depth at which the needle should be inserted. Every licensed acupuncturist is well aware of any organs, nerves or vasculature underneath and surrounding every point.

After a treatment , most patients feel relaxed and rejuvenated with partial or total relief of major symptoms treated.

Most treatment courses run from one to ten treatments. For severe chronic problems a treatment course can be as long as ten treatments, with up tp three treatment courses given.

Many patients enjoy one treatment per week as a health maintenance measure.

AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE

is quite simply Acupuncture done on the ear. The ear’s acupuncture points represent a micro system of the body and are potentially therapeutic. The acupuncture points found on the  outer ear correspond to other locations in the body. By stimulating these points, the acupuncture needle sends electric impulse messages to the brain, which are then to stimulate other areas in the body. In this way Auricular Acupuncture can relieve pain, stimulate organs and the brain itself and achieve therapeutic effects. 

It is particularly effective in mental/emotional disturbances, i.e anxiety, depression, insomnia as well as for weight control in obesity and addictions to drugs, alcohol and nicotine.

ELECTRO  ACUPUNCTURE

is  a form of Acupuncture in which pairs of acupuncture needles are attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses between them.  It is particularly benefitial for treating acute and chronic muscle pain.
